How This Simulator Operates
Signal Train replicates the mechanical interlocking logic of heritage British railway signal boxes. Each of the three seed boxes – Ashcombe Terminus, Millford Crossing, and Cedar Halt – contains a unique lever frame configuration with signals, points, facing-point locks, and releases. The app enforces authentic locking table rules, preventing physically impossible lever combinations just as a real frame would.
Every lever pull triggers detection checks and conditional locks. Red levers control signals, black levers operate points, blue levers engage facing-point locks, and brown levers control releases. The frame view displays all levers with color coding and current positions. Tap any lever to see its function, dependencies, and current state. The system explains why a lever cannot be moved if interlocking rules prevent it.
Routes mode guides you through complete train movements step by step. The app highlights the next lever to pull, shows completion status with green checkmarks, and tracks your time from first pull to final lever replacement. Rehearsals are filed with statistics on signals cleared, blocked attempts, and total duration. Bell mode teaches absolute-block signaling using audio clicks and visual dot patterns for each code.
